About CatSNIP

CatSNIP’s primary role is one of gathering financial resources to connect people and their cats with licensed veterinarians for the purpose of sterilization.  The majority of time and effort will be focused on

  • raising funds

  • disseminating those funds to pay for sterilization surgeries by qualified service providers

  • informing the public about CatSNIP’s mission and the importance of feline sterilization.

Kelly Kat, Founder
Since 1973, Kelly has had a love affair with cats.  Her first baby, Tiki, was a black domestic shorthair and runt of the litter.  Always an animal lover and nature enthusiast, Kelly has been blessed with success in both the corporate and nonprofit arenas.  After caring for numerous strays (9 at one point) and having them sterlized, she realized something needed to be done to address the root of the problem.  "For each 1 I take in, there are 2 more waiting to take their place!  And, my home is only so big!"  So, after several corporate tours of duty and much research and planning, Kelly has come full circle.  CatSNIP was born...

Misty
By way of the Michigan Humane Society, Misty became Kelly Kat's companion in 1998.  Also known as 'the Mistifier', shnookums, baby girl, beaupital, and fweetheart, Misty is purrfect!

Holly
Born to Dolly, Holly was destined to live the life of a barn cat in northern Michigan. But she was not "barn cat" material; smaller than the rest with personality galore, Holly chose people over the outdoor life of her litter mates.  On Christmas Day, 2006, Holly rode on Kelly Kat's shoulder from northern Michigan to Metro Detroit. Holly is currently fielding inquiries and suggestions for the cat-themed Halloween Masquerade Ball.  You can reach Holly at Holly@CatSNIPmich.org.
